PHAIDON STORE NYC Opens




I love Phaidon books and hope 1 day to have a nice collection of their collectible books/special editions and now a store front opens in NYC!

Phaidon, publisher of the world's finest books on the visual arts, culture and creativity, is pleased to announce the opening of PHAIDON STORE, its first stand-alone bookstore in the U.S., located in the heart of New York City's SoHo neighborhood. The 2,500-square-foot PHAIDON STORE will be open for a limited time at 100 Wooster Street (between Prince and Spring) from November 2, 2009, through January 2010. Store hours will be 9:00 am-9:00 pm, Monday to Saturday, and 9:00 am-7:00 pm on Sunday. Phaidon has long enjoyed cult status among art insiders, architects and designers and now, for the first time, New Yorkers will be able to access Phaidon's extraordinary catalog of books in one place. PHAIDON STORE will offer same-day delivery in Manhattan, personalized concierge service, gift wrapping, events and special offers. PHAIDON STORE will offer Phaidon's full range of beautifully designed yet affordable books covering fine arts, architecture, photography, design, performing arts, decorative arts, contemporary culture, fashion and film. PHAIDON STORE will also feature its full series of Wallpaper* City Guides as well as Phaidon's best-selling cookbooks, award-winning children's books and stationery. New Fall 2009 titles will be released every week between now and the holidays, including The Silver Spoon: Pasta, featuring new recipes from the team behind the best-selling bible of Italian home cooking, Painting Today, a lively survey of world painting of the last thirty years, and new career monographs on the artists Anish Kapoor and Jeff Wall. Phaidon's series of exclusive Collector's Editions will be displayed for sale, including editions by artists Jeff Wall, Tacita Dean, Stephen Shore, Nedko Solakov, Danny Lyon, Roger Ballen, Nobuyoshi Araki, René Burri, Elliott Erwitt, Nan Goldin, Martin Parr and Luc Tuymans. Collector's Editions are special editions of Phaidon books, beautifully bound, individually signed and numbered, and presented in a custom-made box together with an original print made, signed and numbered by the artist.
