Lancaster's weekend showcase of the arts is coming up on October 17th and 18th at venues throughout Downtown Lancaster, PA. Brought to you by LancasterARTS, the theme for Fall ArtWalk is a FUSION of visual, performing, and culinary arts. The event includes attractions for serious art lovers as well as activities for families and young aspiring artists.
There will be galleries and studios open with artists discussing and demonstrating their craft; live music, dance, and other performing arts in the streets and concert halls; and demonstrations of culinary art for your dining enjoyment. This year's Fall ArtWalk includes special spotlights on tattoo art and dance, behind-the-scenes demonstrations of theatrical special effects, special Segway tours, buskers (street performers), a molten bronze pouring, and opportunities to try your hand at pottery, glass-blowing, and painting! And a new twist, the Arts Crawl Challenge, an opportunity to win prizes for finding artistic treasures around the city. Most Fall ArtWalk activities are free of charge and open to the public, and many of the venues include family-friendly activities. Core hours are Saturday, October 17th from 10 to 5 and Sunday, October 18th from noon to 5, but some activities will begin Friday evening and some will continue into Sunday evening. http://www.lancasterarts.com/
